Texas Notary Information

Before proceeding, Texas requires notary applicants to complete a notary education course. Follow the steps below if you have not completed the notary education.

• Go to https://webservices.sos.state.tx.us/termsandconditions/tac.html
• Create your SOS Portal account
• Select "Notary Portal"
• Navigate to the Notary Education tab
• Select "Traditional Notary Education"
• Complete the required notary education course

Once you have completed these requirements, return here to obtain your notary bond. Please direct any SOS Portal or notary education questions to the Texas Secretary of State (512) 463-5705
